How to get rid of blackheads? Blackheads are not only for teenagers. They can appear at any age and, just like fuzz on a soft sweater, they dull your complexion. Here is our three-step action plan to defeat these annoying and unsightly enemies of our skin.
WHAT ARE BLACKHEADS?
Blackheads, also known as open comedones, are a mixture of sebum and dead cells that have oxidized upon contact with air, thus clogging the skin's pores. Blackheads generally appear on the nose, forehead, and chin (T-zone), but they can also appear on the cheeks, forehead, back, and décolletage. Oily skin is more prone to this type of imperfection, due to enlarged pores and excessive sebum production.
THE ORIGIN OF BLACKHEADS
Blackheads usually appear for the first time during adolescence due to hormonal changes. However, they can reappear in adulthood due to multiple factors: poor skin hygiene, use of overly rich cosmetics, hormonal factors (birth control pills, menstruation, menopause). Furthermore, sun exposure, by drying the epidermis, can favor the appearance of blackheads.
There are also blackheads that are simply the accumulation of impurities (pollution, smog, sweat, makeup) within enlarged pores. Whatever their origin, these small enemies are not irreversible, and it is possible to gently get rid of them.

ANTI-BLEMISH PRODUCTS
Healthy skin always starts with an impeccable cleansing routine. Thoroughly cleanse your skin morning and evening using a purifying cleanser specially formulated for oily or acne-prone skin to purify and exfoliate the epidermis.
After cleansing, tighten your pores using a soothing and astringent toner.
FACIAL PEEL
Poor cell renewal, dead skin accumulating on the surface, and blackheads appearing... what a disaster!
To remove dead cells from your skin, perform a facial and lip peel two or three times a week using an enzymatic exfoliator like our organic peel. With its organic apricot kernel micro-granules, it gently removes impurities, dry and dead skin. Your epidermis will thus regain radiance and vitality.
ANTI-BLEMISH MASK
Just as there is no high fashion handbag without matching red-soled shoes, there is no facial peel without a good mask.
These hydrating rituals (yes, even blemish-prone skin needs hydration) purify, tighten pores, and regulate sebum. Choose a mask that can absorb everything that clogs pores and reduce their size.
A good ally is certainly our purifying face mask which, with its algae and clay extracts, purifies and moisturizes at the same time.
Hydration is essential. Therefore, for impure skin, it is recommended to finish the beauty ritual using a specific cream like alkemy purifying face cream which, with lavender and burdock, purifies through a strong soothing action and nourishes the skin thanks to Klamath microalgae.
Finally, our ally alkemy 1.1 pure azelaic.
