Vitamin E: a superhero for our body

Vitamina E: un superhero per il nostro organismo

Scavengers are like cleaners. They act against the free radicals within our body, which are responsible for cellular damage that leads to oxidative stress and skin aging.

What are free radicals?

Free radicals are abnormal cells produced naturally within the cellular reactions of our body or during simple daily activities. They are the result of cellular oxidation reactions that affect physiological processes. Physical stress from intense physical activity, pollution, drugs, smoking, alcohol, medications, ultraviolet rays and radiation are among the major producers of free radicals.

However, our body is able to fight, counteract, and slow down the action of these free radicals; but how? Thanks to the action of scavengers or natural antioxidants that inhibit the formation of oxygen radicals and slow down cellular aging.

It was the 1950s when antioxidants were attributed to scavengers, and among them, one of the most powerful is vitamin E, closely connected to the skin. Vitamin E slows down skin damage, reduces water loss at the dermal level by limiting dehydration and laxity of skin tissues, and reduces the depth of wrinkles because it stimulates endogenous collagen and elastin, which are affected by oxidative processes. As a result, the skin appears more elastic, radiant, and hydrated.

In addition to its use in cosmetics, which I will discuss later, what foods should be consumed so that our body can assimilate it from the outside?

Vitamin E: where it is found

Among the foods/ingredients that contain a higher quantity of vitamin E, we remember:

It is also found in vegetables such as spinach and asparagus.
It is proven that cooking damages its properties, so these foods should be consumed raw or cooked at controlled temperatures.

Vitamin E: how to take it and its benefits for the skin

As for our skin, how do we get this unbeatable shield of vitamin E? Obviously by using cosmetic formulas that have the right percentage within them. Do you want to know how to recognize this superhero in your creams?

In the ingredients list, simply by consulting your label, you will find vitamin E as
Tocopherol. I also really like Tocopheryl Acetate, which, although it has a lower but still very valid antioxidant effect, is also more stable and has a much better performing texture because of its light consistency.

For us at Alkemy, it is important to take care of all skin types but fundamental to ensure safety for the most sensitive and delicate skin with dermatological tests.

Our recovery serum 2.4 and our Alkemy hydra face cream 2.0 are excellent antioxidant formulas because they contain natural vitamin E in a stable form that strengthens the skin barrier of the face day and night.

For the well-being of the whole family's body, even the little ones, the Karitè line boasts a high concentration of natural Vitamin E that deeply moisturizes starting from cleansing in the shower or a nice warm bath with the Karitè cleansing oil and takes care of nourishment with the Karitè pure oil and the Karitè butter cream.

In this case, we are talking about synthetic Vitamin E, therefore produced in the laboratory.
Conversely, natural vitamin E is extracted by pressing vegetable oils, which our Alkemy formulations are rich in.

Remember that by using cosmetic formulas containing vitamin E, you will preserve water loss and skin aging, in addition to fighting the action of free radicals every day.

Strengthen your skin barrier with a shield of Vitamin E and you will always have a fresh and radiant face.
